William is an experienced and motivated procurement leader who has been instrumental in delivering procurement transformations, large complex end to end projects and developing teams to their full potential.  He has in depth knowledge and hands on experience of implementing category management and procurement strategies across Europe, Australia, USA and Asia for financial services, travel and transport both in public and private sectors. Core capabilities are; technology, outsourcing, payments, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management. Specifically William has delivered in excess of US$36m dollars of savings through single source negotiations and out to market procurement processes. Implemented best practice and led teams across Asia and Europe.  He is also fully conversant with leading e-procurement tools. William is a Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and was instrumental in winning the Award for Best Supplier Relationship in 2013 whilst at Qantas Airways.

Previous Experience

William has recently returned from Australia where he managed 6 categories, $1b spend across ICT, Professional Services, Train and Track at Railcorp. He led Operations and Technology procurement at American Express and Qantas. Lastly Card Schemes, loyalty and insurance at Westpac. Prior to Australia he worked in procurement for Barclays Bank and Network Rail in Technology having started his career in the procurement within the health service.
