Tim has extensive experience of public and private sector procurement and a track record of developing and implementing strategies and processes, which deliver excellent outcomes. He was responsible for the Government’s ICT Commercial Strategy published in 2010, and was the Commercial Director of the Public Sector Network, the Government’s telecommunications transformation programme. He has created and managed substantial Category Teams in IT and Telecommunications, Professional Services, Construction and Facilities Management. Tim has experience of major programmes and whilst at the Office of Government Commerce was responsible for the programme assurance of £16bn procurement efficiencies across central Government in 2005-8. In 2003, he was the Commercial Director for the last telecommunication network to be built in the UK; a programme with an initial investment of £800m. Tim also has strong supplier management skills and was responsible for the commercial leadership of the Government’s Strategic Supplier Programme for the IT and Telecommunications industry. Tim is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
Tim has spent the majority of his career in the private sector, however from 2005 until 2011 he was a Director in the Office of Government Commerce. Whilst there, his final role was as ICT Commercial Director responsible for the strategic management of £16bn annual spend on IT and telecommunications across Government. Prior to this Tim held senior roles at BT plc and was the first Director of Procurement at Hogg Robinson plc.
